Carrie Fisher's memoir will make most of us, at least everyone I know, feel a whole lot better about our own obstacles and vices.
While reading, Wishful Drinking (which took me a total of 2 1/2 hours) I was struck by how damned funny she is, in spite of her monumental struggle with drugs and mental illness. You have to give the girl credit for surviving, writing about her wacky life and letting us laugh about it. She is blessed with an edgy and dry sense of humor that, you must believe, has saved her life a time or two.
Carrie Fisher is one of the few, in fact the only, celebrity I'd like to have lunch with. I think we'd get along.
